Something WILD Is Coming To The Little Menomonee River

Walking Tour

Saturday, October 22  |  Tours Leave At 10:00 AM And 11:00 AM

Part of Milwaukee County Parks’ “Emerald Necklace”, the Little Menomonee River Parkway retains a unique set of natural communities now rare in Southeastern Wisconsin. However, this six-mile river corridor has been heavily impacted by development, industrialization, and the introduction of invasive species. In order to improve and expand critical habitat for native fish and wildlife and enhance recreational opportunities for the community, the Parkway is now the focus of restoration efforts within the Milwaukee Estuary Area of Concern.

Join us for a walking tour on Saturday, October 22, 2022 to learn more about Milwaukee County Parks ongoing and upcoming projects to manage invasive threats and boost native species diversity in this natural area gem.

On this FREE 1-hour walking tour along the Oak Leaf Trail you will learn about the Milwaukee Estuary Area of Concern (AOC) and upcoming projects to:

  • – Restore unique habitat in the Little Menomonee River Parkway
  • – Support thriving communities of fish and wildlife.
  • – Enhance recreational opportunities and trail use.
